Using the Site how to find your way around here

I use Internet Explorer, like the majority of Net users. So while developing the site, I have tested it out mainly in IE. I am also most familiar with this - and any webstuff I do for work is only ever viewed in IE. I've just upgraded to version 6, and would recommend it! By the way - a tip from the techies at work: Upgrade IE - and especially Outlook Express if you use it for your email - as soon as possible. There are a lot of improved security features, including protection from dodgy attachments.

Any browser should show the site OK. But they all work in different ways, and so what looks well laid out in one might look like a right jumble in another. Apart from only using the most basic functions, there is no way I can avoid it..

I also check the site in Netscape (when I remember). The main difference I notice is with the links. In IE, any link on the site should change colour and appear underlined when you pass your cursor over it. However, in older versions of Netscape, this doesn't happen - so if you think some word or phrase may be a link, then just pass your cursor over it - if the cursor changes shape (usually to a hand), then you are over a link, which will take you to another page or a mail screen if you click it. I have tried to remember to colour all the links orange, to make them stand out - my apologies if I've missed one!

I want this site to be shared by all the Plakias fans out there, so please mail me with any tips, comments, help, advice, news etc. and as soon as I can find some time, I'll build it in (editorial rights reserved, of course!). You might also try the Message board (click on Messages on the left bar) - if you have a question, you'll often get a better - and quicker - answer that way.

Several Plakias regulars keep in touch through the site, and have contributed a great deal to it. If you see one of their names in orange, then it's because they've allowed me to include a link to their e-mail address. Just click on it and you can mail them direct from this site (or at least you can if you are using IE or Netscape - I don't know about all the other browsers yet).

Please advise me of any broken links or other errors.
